Where to watch Ramayan: Dipika Chikhlia, who played the role of Sita in Ramanand Sagar's iconic mythological serial Ramayan revealed on social media that the show is set to return to television again in 2021. When the nation was in lockdown due to the pandemic the previous year, Ramayan was retelecasted nationwide after 33 years of its original telecast on public demand.

The first telecast of Ramayan took place in 1987-1988 on the Doordarshan channel. Due to a surge in COVID-19 cases in the country, many states have declared lockdowns and imposed curfews again in 2021. Thus a channel has decided to retelecast Ramayan this year as well.

Chikhila announced the news of the re-telecast of the show through Instagram on Thursday, April 15. Announcing the news, the actor wrote that she was very excited to share that Ramayan will be airing again on small screens this year. She reminisced of the previous year when the show was re-telecasted and said that the history is repeating itself.

The actor shared how the show has been an important part of her life and also thousands of families in India for many years. She requested viewers to watch Ramayan once again and be a part of the community by sharing the knowledge of Ramayan with the younger generations.

When and where to watch the show

The classic show based on the epic Indian mythological text Ramayana will be telecast every day on Star Bharat this year. You can watch it at 7 pm every evening on the channel.

Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan features Dipika Chikhila, Arun Govil and Sunil Lahri in the lead roles of Sita, Ram and Lakshman respectively.

Many old shows like Mahabharat, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Byomkesh Bakshi and Circus were retelecasted by Doordarshan amidst lockdown in 2020. Viewers have also requested of retelecast of other popular DD shows like Nukkad and Hum Log, as nation resorts to strict measures with second wave of COVID-19
