Where to watch Pavitra Rishta 2.0: Ankita Lokhande is coming back to the small screen with a reboot of her hit television serial Pavitra Rishta. Slated for a September release, the show will have a different actor reprise the role of Manav opposite Lokhande's Archana. Actor Shaheer Sheikh has been roped in to take over from late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who passed away last year. However, unlike the original television series, Pavitra Rishta 2.0 will be streaming on OTT.

Pavitra Rishta's legacy

The story of Pavitra Rishta focuses on Mumbai-based Archana, whose mother marries her off to a mechanic named Manav under the presumption that he is a mechanical engineer who owns a garage. Despite their contrasting backgrounds, Archana and Manav fall in love and together face the hardships presented to them by life.

The serial was loved for its iconic pairing of Rajput and Lokhande, who were in a relationship in real life too. The serial ran for five years, telecasting over 1400 episodes. In 2011 though, Rajput left Pavitra Rishta to pursue a career in films. He was replaced by actor Hiten Tejwani. However, he made a special appearance in the finale episode of the soap in 2014. Eventually, Rajput and Lokhande too parted ways in real life.

Will Pavitra Rishta 2.0 impress the viewers?

The story of Pavitra Rishta 2.0 too seems to run on a similar course as the original serial. The trailer hints that this time around too, Manav and Archana will end up getting married due to a misunderstanding and then eventually fall in love.

However, many of Rajput's fans have been displeased with Sheikh's casting as Manav alleging that no one else could reprise the role better than the late actor did. Thus, it will be a tall task for the makers of Pavitra Rishta 2.0, to impress the audience with this reboot.

The series will start streaming on OTT from September 15.

Where to watch Pavitra Rishta 2.0

From September 15, the series will be available for streaming exclusively on ZEE5. However, after 55 days of its premiere, the series will also be made available on ALTBalaji.
