Where to watch Mimi: Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi starrer film Mimi was released four days before its scheduled release date on July 26. The film was earlier slated to release on July 30.
The film was reported to have leaked online on Monday on numerous pirate sites. The makers and actors of the film did not mention the leak and announced the film's release on social media. The film's producer Dinesh Vijan said, "Like babies are born premature, our film can also come early."
July 27 also happens to be Kriti Sanon's birthday, the makers of the film celebrated the film's release with that.
Mimi is directed by Laxman Utekar and also have Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathik in significant roles. The film's trailer was released earlier in July. Mimi's plot is based on the main character, played by Kriti Sanon, becoming a surrogate for an international couple. The couple refuses to take the baby when Sanon is mid-way into the pregnancy. This leaves her dealing with the societal struggles alone.
The film Mimi is a remake of the National Award-winning Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy!
Talking about the film, Sanon told PTI, "It’s not preachy or serious. It's not like you are going to watch a film on surrogacy and it’s going to be a documentary film. It’s a very entertaining film, filled with humour, and a lot of ups and downs. There’s a beautiful graph of the woman I am playing, Mimi, where she wants to be an actress."
The film is streaming on Netflix.
