The film starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin is going to have a direct OTT release, as the makers announced in December last year. This will be the third film with Taapsee Pannu as a lead actor that will release on the OTT channel. Her earlier two films were Rashmi Rocket and Haseen Dilruba.
Looop Lapeta has been directed by Aakash Bhatia and it will be his first film to release on digital streaming sites. The shooting of the film got concluded in Goa on February 16, 2021. Pannu took to her social media account on December 13, 2021, to announce that the film will not see a theatre release. The decision was taken due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in India which also limited access to cinema halls.

Taapsee Pannu in her caption wrote, "Time is ticking, and it is time to run!

Later the makers also announced that the film will be available to stream on February 4, 2022.

Earlier in 2021, the makers had set March 22, 2021 as the release date for the film but the country was hit by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, many film releases were halted and postponed due to the rising cases and restrictions imposed on theatres due to the pandemic.
Looop Lapeta Plot:
As per the information released so far, the film is a remake of a German film titled Run Lola Run released in 1998. Actors Franka Potente and Moritz Bleibtreu starred in the film in lead roles. The woman in the film had to secure secure 100,000 Deutschmarks in twenty minutes in order to save her boyfriend's life. The film ran in loops, with every event leading to Lola seeing different outcomes. Pannu will be playing the role of Lola named Savi in Looop Lapeta. while talking about the role to the media, she said, "I ran behind some films and some have just thankfully fallen in my lap. This (Loop Lapeta) being the latter I couldn’t be more grateful to these guys and the luck line in my palm. "
She added, "From entering the narration with the idea to say No, to leaving it with an immediate Yes, thanks to these gentlemen for hanging by a solid script and concept for years and being more sure of me being Savi than I was.”
