Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been hailed as one of the most eagerly awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects on the horizon since its announcement. Despite the fact that Doctor Strange 2's release date was pushed back over a year, excitement for the film remained high. The reason for this is that the film's title includes the newest buzzword in superhero films, 'Multiverse,' and the picture is now due to launch on OTT following a tremendously successful theatrical run.

The film premiered in theatres on May 6, 2022, and it promptly became the year's highest-earning film, grossing $911 million worldwide. In just two days after its Indian release, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness grossed over Rs 50 crore.

Doctor Stephen Strange was a skilled but arrogant neurosurgeon who had it all until he became the Master of the Mystic Arts. He has it all, money, acclaim, and a former love interest. However, he wasn't very adept at keeping his eyes on the road, and a vehicle accident left his hands paralysed. He lost his entire career as a result of the accident, which led him into a downward spiral. Strange spent all of his money trying to heal himself and got so bitter that he turned his back on Christine, the only person who actually cared about him.

Strange finally sees the light when the Ancient One knocks his Astral Form out of his body and sends him on a tour of the multiverse when he is at his lowest point and has nothing else to lose.

The second instalment of the Doctor Strange film series continues the story of the character following the events of Spider-Man: No Way and WandaVision. The legendary role of Stephen Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, and his adventures as he explores the cosmos, will be reprised in this new film. After unlocking the gates to the multiverse, Doctor Strange finds himself in a situation where he must travel through other worlds in order to save his own.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the Marvel Cinematic Universe's 28th instalment and the Marvel studio's first horror film.

The cast also includes Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Michael Stuhlbarg as Dr Nicodemus West, Benedict Wong as Wong, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, and Rachel McAdams as Dr Christine Palmer.

Beginning June 22, 2022, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness will be available to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar.
