Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor starrer film Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is all set to release this month before the year ends. The social media feeds have been filled with excited fans posting about what they expect from the film and the thing they are hoping to see.

The film recently came out with its trailer which made many curious about the plot. Even though the makers have not clarified it, the film is going to be a gender bending romantic comedy. Khurrana's character is fitness enthusiast who falls in love with a zumba teacher, played by Vaani Kapoor. The conflict arises when Khurrana is made aware of Kapoor's gender identity. Kapoor's character is named Maanvi Brar while Khurrana is playing Manu Munjal.
When Brar reveals her gender identity Munjal finds it hard to love her. A shocked Manu cuts all ties with her but they both cannot resist each other. The film is about how these love-birds try to revive their romance. When Munjal proposes Brar for marriage, she tells him about her identity and Munjal is seen comparing her to the picture he was seeing on his phone screen. Agitated by the difference, he walks out angrily saying, " He said, she said.."
The film has been directed by Abhishek Kapoor. Apart from Kapoor and Khurrana, Girish Dhamija and Leena Sharma are also part of the film's cast. The film has also got flak for its attempt to represent a transgender person without casting someone who is actually transgender. However, the makers are yet to confirm if Vaani Kapoor is playing the role of a transgender person. The film has also lauded for being India's first zero-waste film.
