Where to watch Bhuj: The Pride of India: This year's Independence day weekend will see a flurry of releases on OTT platforms as viewers continue to stay away from cinemas due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the films releasing this weekend, that has generated quite a buzz on social media, is Bhuj: The Pride Of India. The Ajay Devgn-Sonakshi Sinha starrer is all set for its digital premiere on August 13.
Bhuj: The Pride Of India is a war film, a second one to release on this weekend, mind you, that is based on the 1971 attack on the Bhuj airbase by Pakistan. This airbase in Gujarat was said to be key to movement of Indian Air Force during the 1971 war. The film will see Devgn play the role of Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik- the in charge of Bhuj air base at the time of the air attack. Karnik will be seen taking help of women from the village of Madhpur, to reconstruct the crucial airstrip in the film. Sinha plays one of the women associated with the mission.
Directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the film is said to be a tribute to officers and soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces, who fought in the 1971 war. Dudhaiya has also co-written the film alongside writer Raman Kumar, Ritesh Shah and Pooja Bhavoria. The film also features actors Sanjay Dutt, Nora Fatehi, Sharad Kelkar and Ammy Virk in supporting roles.
Recently, the makers of the film had released its song Rammo Rammo, featuring Sinha and Dutt. This is Sonakshi Sinha's first Garba number. The song has been sung by Neeti Mohan, Palak Mucchal and Udit Narayan. Tanishk Bagchi has composed the number, while Manoj Muntashir has penned lyrics for it.
