Where to watch Balcony Buddies: Actors Amol Parashar and Aisha Ahmed starrer film will premier on on August 1. The story celebrates coronavirus-induced lockdown friendship from a different angle. As we all are viewing the world from our balconies these days, Balcony Buddies introduces you to two relatable strangers and an unlikely friendship formed during the lockdown.
The minute-long trailer, which was released on Wednesday, gives us a glimpse of an accidental friendship between a man and a woman in lockdown. We meet the characters, Sunanda (played by Ahmed) who is bored sitting at home, with yoga being her only way to survive. On one such boring day, she notices a stranger across the balcony imitating her asanas. She befriends Prateek (essayed by Parashar) who is as lonely as her, and thus begins the tale of the balcony buddies, a concept most of us can relate to in the lockdown. Eventually the two strangers start conversing talking, maintaining social distance and a friendship grows while playing games, choosing outfits and celebrating birthdays.
Talking about her upcoming film, Ahmed said that it's in her nature to make friends, so during the lockdown, she would randomly wave at people from her building’s terrace just for some human interaction. "Amol and I have known each other for a while now so it made filming this piece easy and fun," the actor, known for films like 3 Storeys, Zindagi in Short, said about her co-star. She described the story as a "beautiful take on how you can find friends in the most surprising ways" and hoped that the audience sees it as a breath of fresh air. Ahmed claimed that the interactivity element makes it all the more fun for the viewer.
Meanwhile, Parashar, known for TVF Tripling, believes that this film is a lighthearted take along the same lines of making new friends in lockdown.
