Loved Watching Russian Doll? Here's When You Can Catch Up Season 2 Of The Series

After three years, the much-loved web series Russian Doll is going to make a comeback soon. The makers of this time loop drama series recently dropped four new pictures of the upcoming season promising a follow up worth waiting for.

The Emmy-winning series is created by Natasha Lyonne, Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler. The plot of the first season of the show revolved around Nadia, played by Lyonne, who is caught in a time loop wherein she dies every single day and reemerges only on the night of her 36th birthday party, thrown by her close friend Maxine(Greta Lee). While she tries to figure out how she ended up in the loop and what she must do to avoid death, she comes across another person stuck in the same loop, Alan, who is played by actor Charlie Barnett.

There is a lot of curiosity among viewers regarding what will the upcoming season be about. In the grand finale of the first season, Nadia and Alan, manage to escape the time loop. The sequel will be set four years after the finale episode of the first season.

According to the Netflix synopsis of the show, season two will continue exploring the "existential thematics through an often humorous and sci-fi lens." They will delve deeper into the past and will end up at one of Manhattan's most notorious locations.

Russian Doll Season 2

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, creator and actor of the show, Lyonne said, "It's definitely a wild ride. It is deep and deeply off-the-wall. I genuinely think the joy of the game is to watch it with fresh eyes as much as you can in order to be taken by the story."

However, no official date of release of the show has been announced by the team yet. The only thing known is that it is going to come back on Netflix somewhere between the months of March and June, which marks the spring season in the US.

The cast for season 2 will include Lyonne and Barnett as the time loop survivors. An edition, the series will also feature Annie Murphy, who has been in shows like the Schitt's Creek.
