Gullak Season 3 Is Coming To OTT This Week, Here's What Fans Can Expect

Popular OTT family-drama series Gullak is returning with its third season this week. The show has amassed a huge fan following since its debut in 2019 for the relatable plot and portrayal of a middle-class household set in Northern India. Gullak follows the story of the Mishra family as the parents and two sons deal with complicated familial relations and financial chaos on a day to day basis. So what can fans expect from Gullak Season 3 plot?

Starring Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Harsh Mayar in the lead roles, Gullak Season 3 will also include Sunita Rajwar as Bittu Ki Mummy in the show. While Mr and Mrs Mishra struggle to run their household on a tight budget, their sons are shown going through different phases of life as they gradually move into adulthood and embrace their responsibilities.

Both Bollywood and OTT have time and again attempted to portray the challenges faced by Indian middle-class families over the years as a result of which many offerings under this genre seem cliched. Yet there is a distinctive quality about Gullak which makes it stand out from the rest. Speaking on what makes the series click, Geetanjali Kulkarni said, "Middle-class stories are appreciated by the audience because they are relatable. But few things make every episode or incident interesting based on the region where the story is set."

Actor Jameel Khan also said that middle-class stories are more colourful than others. Explaining the reason behind the success of Gullak, he added, "The majority of our population is middle-class. So it is only natural for our audience to feel connected with every character in our show Gullak. Also, I think even though some incidents might look similar, with context, reactions come across differently."

Gullak Season 3 Plot

The fans were presented with the trailer for the third season of the web series on March 22 this year. As per the trailer, it seems that the Mishra family will again be seen facing inevitable challenges while dealing with their own conflicts just like in the previous seasons. However, this time it is expected that the characters will also undergo certain personal developments.

According to the Season 3 trailer, Annu will be seen working a job that will pay him Rs 17,000 monthly. Subsequently, his importance in the family will rise as he becomes an earning member. However, the family continues to struggle to keep the home afloat as Santosh has been suspended from his job due to office politics. How will the Mishras manage to come out of this crisis?

Gullak Season 3 is releasing on April 7, 2022 on OTT platform Sony LIV.
