Harnaz Sandhu recently revealed that she had celiac disease, which is caused by the consumption of gluten. Her statement was in response to the trolls' insulting remarks over her weight gain.
In recent photos and appearances, some social media users pointed out that Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu has put on some weight. Many have been trolling her on social media over it, but Sandhu is unconcerned about such comments and has effectively responded to the trolls. Sandhu told PTI that she had celiac disease, which is an immune sensitivity to gluten, a protein present in wheat, barley, and rye. She said, "I'm one of those individuals who was first bullied that 'she's too skinny' and now they bully me saying 'she's fat'. Nobody knows about my celiac disease. That I can't eat wheat flour and many other things."
She also mentioned that when the place and geographical conditions change, the human body goes through a lot of changes. She added, "When you go to a village, you see changes in your body. And I went to New York for the very first time... It is a whole other world altogether." She also discussed body positivity and how society's perspective on beauty differs.

What is Celiac disease?
The disease is an autoimmune disorder in which the body's own immune system fights the individual. When gluten is consumed, an autoimmune response is induced. It causes malnutrition, bone loss, fertility troubles, neurological illnesses, and, in some cases, cancer.
Many people are unaware they have this condition until it has progressed to a later stage due to a lack of awareness.
Symptoms of Celiac disease:
Constipation, gas, numbness in the legs, missed menstrual cycle, anaemia, infertility, osteoporosis, tooth discolouration, stomach pain, bloating, muscular cramps, joint pain, and itchy skin are all signs of this disease. Other signs and symptoms include Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, inflamed colon, intestinal infection, and intestinal bacteria overgrowth.
Celiac Disease Treatment:
Once this disease has been diagnosed, experts and physicians advise against eating gluten-containing foods. Alternatives and/or gluten-free foods are frequently recommended for these individuals. The biggest substantial impact on your health will be achieved by avoiding gluten-containing meals, although this is easier said than done.
Gluten is present in almost all Indian cuisines in some way. You'll need to see a doctor, get tested for gluten intolerance or allergies, and devise a specific diet plan that outlines which items you can consume and which you must avoid.
