Thriller series The Fame Game will be premiering on OTT this week, also marking the digital debut of actor Madhuri Dixit. The trailer of the show was released after much anticipation on February 10 and since then people cannot stop wondering where superstar Anamika, played by Dixit, has disappeared.
The story of the show revolves around a megastar and her perfect on-camera life and what is hidden behind it. What happens after Anamika goes missing and long-hidden secrets of the family come tumbling out for the world to see? The show's trailer also leaves viewers guessing what exactly happened to Anamika, aside from who is to be held responsible?
Initially, the show was titled Finding Anamika but the name was changed to The Fame Game later on.
So why is the show called The Fame Game? According to Karan Johar, it is much more than what can be expected of it. The Fame Game shows the emotional graph that revolves around the life of a movie star. It is about the face that these stars keep hidden from the camera and the world and the secrets that they guard.

"There is a lot of glamour, glitter and grandeur attached to the lives of a movie star. But what is behind the curtain? What happens? Behind every movie star there lies a story that you do not know," Johar said during the launch of the trailer.

Cast
Apart from Dixit in lead, the cast includes Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Lakshvir Sarang, Suhasini Mulay, amongst others. It is directed by Bejoy Nambiar, who has helmed films like Wazir, Shaitan and David, and short film director Karishma Kohli.
On why she signed up to play a mysterious superstar in the series, Dixit said, "I loved the script. It is about fame and what follies and what happens when there is fame in your life. It is a story about a woman whose life is seemingly perfect till she disappears one day. Then where is she to who is she?"
Plot
The Fame Game introduces us to Anamika Anand, who is a superstar, a mother, a wife and a daughter. All is going well until she suddenly disappears without a clue. After she does not turn up within 48 hours window, the police start an investigation on the case. No one is spared, not even her family. According to Anamika's husband, played by Sanjay Kapoor, everything was fine between the couple, but it seems like he is hiding something and their relationship was not as smooth as the couple wanted the world to believe.
It is soon revealed that Anamika was actually having an affair with her co-actor, played by Kaul. While the police continue to unearth secrets about Anamika's life, her family tries to find a way to contain the damage that this investigation could do to Anamika's reputation and personal life.
The Fame Game streaming details
The Fame Game is ">scheduled to release on February 25, on Netflix. People with a valid subscription to the platform can start streaming the series from the said date.
