Planning To Watch Sooryavanshi Online? Here's Why You'll Have To Wait For Some Time

Watch Sooryavanshi online: Bollywood is getting its big Diwali release in the form of Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi. This Rohit Shetty directorial is part of the filmmaker's cop-universe - preceded by films like Singham, Singham Returns and Simmba.

The release of new films in India has been shrouded in confusion, with many producers still opting for an OTT release and only a few going for a theatrical one. The cases of COVID-19 are on a downward curve in the nation. In Delhi, theatres have been okayed to operate at full capacity since November 1. But the terror of COVID-19 is not completely over, due to which many people prefer to stay at home as much as possible, and rightfully so. Clueless about whether or not viewers will turn up at theatres, filmmakers are having a hard time deciding whether or not they should go for an OTT release or a theatrical one.

The audience itself is confused about the release of new films, Sooryavanshi being one of them. Will it be streaming online? Or will it be released exclusively in theatres? Well, here's what we know so far about the release of this action thriller.

Sooryavanshi cast

Shetty's ambitious project will see Akshay Kumar in the lead as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad, while Kaif will be seen as his wife Aditi. Kumar had a cameo, alongside Ajay Devgn, in Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer Simmba. Now, both Singh and Devgn will be seen in a special appearance in Sooryavanshi as well.

Apart from these actors, the film also features Jaaved Jafri, Jackie Shroff, Niharica Raizada, Vivan Bhatena, Sikandar Kher, Gulshan Grover, Abhimanyu Singh and Nikitin Dheer in key roles.

Sooryavanshi release date

The film was earlier supposed to release on March 24, which was pushed back to April 30 this year. However, due to a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases during the second wave of the pandemic, the film's release was postponed indefinitely. Once the cases began going down, the makers of Sooryavanshi announced that the movie was slated for a Diwali release.

Where to watch Sooryavanshi

The film will have its theatrical release on November 5. As it is with films releasing in cinemas, Sooryavanshi too will have its OTT premiere after a gap of four weeks. According to a news report, Sooryavanshi will start streaming on Netflix from December 5. So if you are planning to skip the theatres, you'll have to wait a bit longer to catch this action film.
