The movie is directed by Hitesh Bhatia and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner in partnership with Honey Trehan and Abhishek Chaubey of MacGuffin Pictures.

Sharmaji Namkeen Cast:

The film's significant cast includes Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha, and Isha Talwar. Juhi Chawla and Kapoor will reunite after the drama film Chalk n Duster. The two have appeared in films such as Bol Radha Bol, Luck By Chance, and Eena Meena Deeka.

Rishi Kapoor died on April 30, 2020, after a long battle with leukemia. Due to Kapoor's death before the film's completion, the film features two actors portraying the same character. Paresh Rawal and Rishi Kapoor play the characters of B. G. Sharma and Sharmaji, respectively.

Sharmaji Namkeen Plot:

The film's plot revolves around the life of a retired widower (Sharmaji) who keeps himself occupied and avoids loneliness by participating in numerous activities. He dabbles in a variety of pursuits before discovering that cooking is his true vocation. His son, on the other hand, is dissatisfied with his father's choices.

Sharmaji Namkeen Trailer:

The ">trailer for the film was released on March 17 and has received more than 15 lakh views. The film has been promoted by the Kapoor family on social media. Alia Bhatt attended the trailer launch with her boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor, his mother, Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir's sister, Riddhima Kapoor, and other members of the Kapoor family.

After viewing Sharmaji Namkeen, her late father's final film, Riddhima Kapoor uploaded a still from the film with an emotional message. Neetu Kapoor has also shared a video of their son, actor Ranbir Kapoor, discussing the film's production.

The film was previously scheduled to be released on Kapoor's birthday, September 4, 2021. The official announcement by the makers of the film Sharmaji Namkeen, says it will be released on Amazon Prime Video on March 31, 2022. Hence, from this Thursday, you can watch the film on Amazon Prime Video.
