The sequel will be directed by Barbara Biaows and Tomasz Mandes, who directed the first film in the series, 365 Days, which was released in 2020. It's based on Blanka Lipinska's first novel, which is the first in a series. The key protagonists of 365 Days are Massimo, a member of the Sicilian Mafia family, and Laura, a sales director. While she is on a trip to Sicily to try to mend her relationship with her husband, Massimo, a mafia member, kidnaps her and gives her a year to fall in love with him. Following its premiere on Netflix on June 7, 2020, the film quickly gained worldwide attention, becoming the most-watched item in territories around the world, including the United States.

Despite the fact that the first film concluded with the prospect of Laura dying in an accident or as a result of a plot devised by Massimo's enemies, she does not appear to have died, and we get to see the much-anticipated wedding. However, the couple appears to hit a snag as Massimo's family problems interfere with his new family.
