The Australian social worker took to Twitter to post a photo and wrote, “Happy birthday to the love of my life. A man that proves that age really is just a number”.

After the demise of Akram's former wife of 14 years, Huma, in 2009, the Pakistani cricketer found a life partner in Shaniera years later. The cricket commentator has two sons, Tahmoor and Akbar, from his first marriage and a daughter, Aiyla Sabeen Rose Akram, with his wife Shaniera Akram.

-Akram met his wife, who initially worked in public relations, over dinner with mutual friends in Melbourne in 2011. Eventually, they exchanged numbers, texted and emailed, and met each other whenever the cricketer was in the country.

-Shaniera revealed in an interview that their relationship “wasn’t romantic at first” but they had something although they belonged to “different generations, different countries”.

-The former left-arm fast bowler asked Shaniera about her “dream proposal” to which she revealed that she wants it to be at home or somewhere private. "Then I came into the lounge room and he was on his knee and asked me if I'd marry him," she described the proposal.

-In 2013, the couple tied the knot in a small ceremony, which was attended by the cricketer’s family and close friends.

-A year later Wasim Akram announced on Twitter that he is expecting his first child with his wife, Shaniera Akram. After a few months, the latter gave birth to their daughter Aiyla Sabeen Rose Akram.

-Speaking of her husband in an interview, Shaniera said, “My husband is my best friend and he is my mentor, he has guided me”. “I trust him because his heart is good to the core,” she added.

-The pair invest a great deal of time in various philanthropic concerns, raising awareness about diabetes and working with orphanages.
