President Putin prefers to keep his personal life away from the limelight. He hardly spoke about his ex-wife or his daughters in the public. The president has his wife parted ways after being together for 30 years. Here is all we know about her.

The former Russian first lady Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya held the title from 7 May 2012 – 6 June 2013. On separating from her former husband Lyudmila had said, "Our marriage is over due to the fact that we barely see each other,” Adding, "Vladimir is completely submerged in his work. Our children have grown up, each of them is living her own life... And I truly don't like publicity."
Who is Vladimir Putin's Ex-Wife, Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya?
- In June 2013, Lyudmila and Putin publicly announced that they were ending their marriage on a mutual decision. The divorce announcement was made on media ending years of speculation about their relationship. In April 2014, the Kremlin confirmed that their divorce had been finalised. The two separated after being married for 30 years.
- As a first lady, she kept a low profile avoiding the limelight. Her public appearances were governed entirely by the state protocol.
- She met her former husband and the current President of Russia Vladimir Putin in Leningrad.
- The two first met when a mutual friend invited Putin to see a play along with several girlfriends. They tied the knot in July 1983.
- The couple has two daughters, Mariya and Yekaterina.
- Lyudmila is educated as a linguist and graduated from the branch of Spanish language and philology of the Department of Philology of Leningrad State University has also served as a flight attendant for Aeroflot.
- From 1990 to 1994, the former first lady taught German at the Department of Philology of Leningrad State University.
- Before President Putin was appointed Prime Minister of Russia in August 1999, she was a Moscow representative of the company Telecominvest.
- In January 2016, Lyudmila reportedly married Artur Ocheretny. He is reportedly a businessman and 21 years younger than her.
- Ocheretny has worked for the Centre For Interpersonal Communications and Literature Education publishing house in Moscow and Art Show Centre.
