Viral Video : Woman Arrested For Thrashing Baby Mercilessly

woman thrashes baby: A video showing a woman mercilessly thrashing a baby has gone viral on social media. According to the police, the video has been shot in Jammu and Kashmir. The suspect has been arrested.

The woman, in the video, can be seen sitting on a bed and arguing with someone. The baby is crying on her lap. The woman is then seen throttling, punching and slapping the baby. Finally, she slams the months-old child on the bed.

The viral video reached Jammu and Kashmir police. They launched a probe into the matter and found out that the woman seen thrashing the infant in the video is a resident of Samba district in the Jammu division. The police further found out that the woman is the infant's mother. The baby is safe now. Watch the video here.

More instances of women thrashing babies/elderly people

This is not the first time when a video of this kind has gone viral on social media. In August last year, video of a woman from Andhra Pradesh thrashing her son went viral. As per reports, the woman was frustrated after a fight with her husband over an alleged extra-marital affair so she started to take it out on her eight-month-old son who was seen crying in pain.

As per a report by The Hindu, a case was registered in the matter under section 355 (assault of criminal force with intent to dishonour a person, section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code and Juvenile Justice Act’s section 75 ( abusing a child).

There was another video of an Anganwadi assistant beating up a three-year-old toddler which went viral on social media in February 2020. The Karnataka Child and Women Welfare Department (KCWWD) took action against the assistant for her misconduct. The assistant was annoyed with the child because the child came late to the Anganwadi centre and then showed difficulty in understanding the lessons which compelled the brutal woman to slap the child.

Another video of a woman identified as Kanta Devi went viral on social media. She was seen thrashing her mother-in-law. The incident was recorded by a schoolgirl on her cell phone. The video showed how Kanta Devi was thrashing and pulling her mother-in-law Chand Bai by her hair. Chand Bai is a widow and has completed 80 years of life.
