Vir Das has launched his recent stand-up special on Netflix called Landing. The audience seems to have received the show well as the social network is flooding with praises of Das.
Vir Das is one of the most well-known Indian stand-up comics of the current times. Vir Das did a lot of shows around India during the lockdown and some of the clips from these shows went viral. Das often finds himself amidst controversies with his jokes like the poem he recited called Two Indias. This time Landing is written about his childhood in India and then he goes on to address the social and political scenario of the country and its obsession with outrage and boycotts. This is his fourth stand-up special with this OTT platform. The comedian shared a short clip from the special where he is seen describing the after-effects of his last controversy.
Vir Das Landing Twitter Review
A Twitter user who is quite impressed by Das' performance wrote, "@thevirdas is an unfaltering performer who moves you, makes you laugh, & in the end, leaves you thinking. That I believe is the power of a true performer— to leave you with something more than just the material. Vir Das Landing, is personal, poignant & preposterously hilarious!" Another excited viewer tweeted, "Mannnn … I love you, even though I know this sounds creepy, @thevirdas. This was genius. I know I sound like an Air India Aunty but you’re wonderful. Truly. (Also you know I clocked the bits about boarding school! Because, same.)".
Cheers are only echoing as another user who watched the stand-up said, "Just watched @thevirdas's new comedy special "Landing". It was just beautiful and amazing and just filled with emotions and Sir you just have the skill to turn any story into learning and laughter. Adding to the praises, this viewer tweeted, "@thevirdas damn this guy! He can make u laugh & cry at the same time. He can make you feel that my country is unfair & then make you fall in love with it all over again. But one thing he can't do, is let you take your eyes and ears off him. Bravo Vir Bravo! #VirDasLanding".
