Everything We Know About Riteish Deshmukh-Genelia D'Souza Starrer Ved

Ved is an upcoming Marathi film that will star actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza in lead roles. The movie is gaining popularity among the audience because of the fan-favourite couple in lead and the catchy songs of the film.

Ved is the Marathi remake of the Telugu sports film Majili released in 2019 and starred as one of the most loved real-life ex-couple from South Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles. Recreating the magic that Majili cast on the audience in Marathi, another most loved real-life actor couple Riteish Deshmukh-Genelia D'Souza will be playing the pivotal roles in this sports romance. Apart from playing the lead, Riteish and Genelia are also involved in the filmmaking process as Riteish Deshmukh marks his directorial debut with this film and Genelia D'Souza is producing it.

Ved Plot And Cast

The story of the movie revolves ">around Satya and Shravani who have been schoolmates since childhood. While Shravani is in love with him, Satya loves another girl who breaks up with him and he gets married to Shravani. Unable to move on from his breakup and missing his ex-girlfriend, the former cricketer now lives off his officer wife's earnings and spends his time smoking and drinking. He is cursed by everyone around him but Sharavani defends him every time and supports him even after knowing he would never love her back.

However, Satya's neglect seems to break her and her one-sided love. The movie shows whether the two are able to make amends or get separated eventually. The teaser shows many recreated scenes from Majili.

Meri Haanikaral Biwi fame actor Jiya Shankar will be playing Satya's ex-girlfriend in the movie while Ashok Saraf, Raviraj Kande, Rahul Dev, Shubhankar Tawde, Pooja Suresh and Kunal Pawar play important roles. The movie also features Salman Khan in a cameo role. The music for the film is composed by award-winning composer duo Ajay-Atul who have earlier composed chartbuster songs for Dhadak and Agneepath. The movie is set to release in theatres on December 30.
