Vijay starrer Varisu has been released in theatres today. The family entertainer is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju.
Varisu is the story of the son of a business tycoon who is initially uninterested in the family business. But when a rival businessman targets the family and the business, the son takes over the business and protects the family. Vijay plays the youngest son of the business tycoon, while Rashmika Mandanna plays his love interest. It is a typical family entertainer with all the commercial elements. The film brings back the vintage Vijay, with his goofy and charming self.
Varisu has been running in theatres since 4 a.m. this morning, and several fans who have watched the film took to Twitter to share their opinions. Here are a few of them for readers to get an insight into reviews from the audience's point of view.
Varisu Twitter Review
A user tweeted, "Varisu-4/5. After a breezy, entertaining first half, it's dharmayudham (war of honour) in the second half, as Thalapathy Vijau says! A perfect Pongal treat for families who are sure to enjoy it. Go for it! Vijay fans, this one is designed for you and your family!" Another user wrote, "Right from Lakshmi to AVPL, the film reminds you of at least 7-8 blockbuster Telugu films, but Vamshi Paidapally managed to package the film neatly with ample doses of comedy, family emotions, action, and hero elevations. Vijay did his role very well. He excelled as usual in fan-pleasing moments and with his dance."
A third user commented, "Varisu is so tastefully made. The extreme self-awareness makes up for the predictability. Lovers of Vijay's comedy and dance are in for a blast. The film clearly delivers more than what it promised." "Interval block is superb. An entertaining family drama strung together with a good emotional core, and high moments. Director Vamshi packs it with the right dose of everything that you need in a film like this. "Must say, this is very different from Vijay's recent films," one Twitter user commented.
Talking about Vijay's screen presence, a user wrote, "Thalapathy Vijay is on full form. His performance and screen prescence in varisu proves that he is in peak of his career. Whistle keezhiyudhu ovoru scene layum (each and every scene is receiving whistles from audience)." Another user commented, "It is the festival entertainer you expect from Vijay and Director Vamshi. The director succeeds in creating a neatly packaged film even though nothing is new in the storyline. A decent first half and an entertaining second half. Energetic Vijay lifts the film. The BG score is too good. Technically decent." One user wrote, "Varisu has a lot of repeat value for the film. The flute dance, especially, was out of the blue. Single-shot in Ranjithame was a blast. Vijay's mannerisms, his screen prescence and comic one-liners, Thalapathy movie reference, Thee Thalapathy was lit. Varisu is a one-man show, and Vijay is the Man of the Match."
Summing it up, according to Twitter users, Varisu is old wine in a new bottle, but the film has been packaged and delivered exceptionally well. The film has garnered positive reviews from the audience. The film will undoubtedly be a commercial blockbuster hit at the box office. Vijay fans are in for a treat, and the family audience is going to love it.
