Despite knowing that the prognosis was poor, she went ahead with chemotherapy for cancer treatment to be able to spend as much time with her children as possible.
She told the Mirror in January, that the chemo treatment was unbelievably gruelling, "But I'm doing it for my kids - they could chop all my limbs off if it meant I could be there for my kids for longer."

Pentland's chronicles infact motivated people to seek medical aid in case they were experiencing any worrying symptoms. "Now I've had thousands of messages of support, people saying 'because of you I went to the doctor, they found my cancer early'."
