Boney Kapoor’s Thunivu is all set for release. The film stars one of the top actors in the Tamil film industry, Ajith Kumar. The action-heist film is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor.

Ajith Kumar will be seen on the silver screen after almost a year. His previous film, Valimai, released in February 2022, was also directed by H. Vinod and produced by Boney Kapoor. The trailer for Thunivu was released on New Year’s Eve by Zee Studios South on their Twitter handle. It was then shared by the film’s producer, Boney Kapoor, on his Twitter. The trailer received 50 million views on YouTube and 1.5 million likes. As the film’s release coincides with Vijay’s Varisu, the fans of both actors are battling it out on social media. Some neutral comments read that the movie seems to be similar to Ajith Kumar’s Mankatha, released in 2011. Some internet users have compared the film to Vijay's previous film, Beast.

The ">trailer opens with guns blazing, and it’s obvious that the anti-hero Ajith Kumar and his team are going to hijack a bank. Ajith Kumar is introduced wearing a mask and blazing his guns in an action sequence. The trailer shows Ajith Kumar as a ruthless robber, and he seems to have proven that he is an ace at playing negative roles yet again. The fast cuts and the action sequences of the movie, along with Manju Warrier in a badass role, have increased the expectations and excitement. It looks like some secrets about the anti-hero and his mission will be revealed in the movie.

Plot

From the looks of the trailer, it seems like Ajith Kumar is playing the anti-hero. Manju Warrier plays the female lead, who appears to be his partner in crime. Manju Warrier appears to have a strong character arc and substantial action scenes. The movie narrates the story of a robber and his team hijacking a bank and holding everyone inside as hostages. They are demanding that their demands be fulfilled by the government in exchange for the safe release of the hostages.

Cast

Ajith Kumar plays the protagonist, and it is contemplated that he plays a character with grey shades, thus he will be the anti-hero. Manju Warrier plays the female lead. Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Ajay, GM Sundar, Veera, Prem, and Bhagavathi Reddy are also part of the cast.

The movie also stars upcoming actors, including Ciby Chandran, Amir, Pavani Reddy, and Youtube sensation GP Muthu, in supporting roles.

Release Date

The film is all set to release on January 11, 2023, which is also the time when Tamil Nadu celebrates Pongal.
