We have heard many tales about the presidents of the United States, their lives, thoughts and politics. But it is now time to focus solely on the first lady and their journey to Washington DC. The television drama series The First Lady will be offering that in-depth storytelling through the eyes of these important women.
According to news media, the show steers clear of the West Wing and solely focuses on the East, "where many of history's most impactful and world-changing decisions have been hidden from view, made by America's charismatic, complex and dynamic First Ladies."
It is going to stress characters like First Ladies Betty Ford, who is played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Eleanor Roosevelt, played by The Crown fame Gillian Anderson. The trailer shows stars like Davis, Anderson, and Pfeiffer transform into three extremely influential first ladies.

According to Deadline, it interweaves storylines "so intimate" that it feels as if the White House walls are talking. The trailer merely scratches the surface of what can be expected of the show with such leading women. It highlights the subsections in which the show will be functioning like stressing the couple, their families and their colleagues.
In the series, Viola Davis will be playing the role of Michelle Obama. This is not the first time that Obama's life will be seen on screen as she was previously portrayed by Tika Sumpter in Southside with You, 2016. Michelle Obama, herself has quite a few ongoing projects in the entertainment industry. She and Barack Obama had signed deals to produce series and films for Netflix including the documentary American Factory.
In 2019, it was announced that the show is going to be a three-part drama series consisting of hour-long episodes. Susanne Bier will be directing every episode. It is created by Aaron Cooley.
