Tara Roy is the daughter of well-known Journalist Duo Radhika and Dr Prannoy Roy who are the co-founders of New Delhi Television popularly known as NDTV. The media house runs several channels including, NDTV 24x7 in English, NDTV India (Hindi) NDTV Profit and NDTV GoodTimes.

Today, Adani Enterprises confirmed that its media unit will indirectly buy a 29.18 percent stake in New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) and launch an open offer for another 26 percent stake in the media house. The news is being looked up to as one of the major media bets in India. 

Adani Group issued a media notice announcing the purchase of 29.18% shares.

In a new development, the journalist duo have resigned as directors on the board of RRPR Holding Private Limited (RRPRH) with effect from November 29. Prannoy Roy is the Chairperson of NDTV and Radhika Roy is an Executive Director.

The board of RRPR Holding has approved the appointment of Sudipta Bhattacharya, Sanjay Pugalia and Senthil Sinniah Chengalvarayan as Directors on its board with immediate effect, NDTV said in an exchange filing.

1. Tara is the daughter of Radhika and Dr Prannoy Roy. As per her LinkedIn profile she is a producer at NDTV.
2. She holds a BFA degree Rhode Island School of Design. Rhode Island School of Design is an art and design college that offers undergraduate and graduate courses in art, architecture, painting, photography, textiles, printmaking, and digital media.
3. In December 2015 along with Manisha Lath Gupta she founded Mojarto. It is an art discovery and buying platform that curates a collection of proprietary artwork and collectibles. The e-commerce marketplace raised Rs 3 crore ($445,000) in its first round of funding.
4. As per the platforms website, "Mojarto was started by a small team of people who believed the art world experience would thrive online."

Radhika Roy and Dr Prannoy Roy are the co-founders of NDTV and Dr Roy has been the face of the network and a well-know Indian journalist. Radhika Roy has held the position of managing director, chairman and chief executive producer of the company and managed the editorial and backend processes. Radhika Roy was ranked the 43rd Most Powerful Woman in India by Fortune India in 2017.

NDTV was the first Indian 24x7 independent news channel which was launched in partnership with Star Plus. The company went public in May 2004.
