KK Jyothy Painting
On July 12, 2020, Jyothy posted her painting of KK performing. After KK’s untimely demise, the image went viral. In the post, she mentioned that her friends Kapil and Sindhu had commissioned her for the piece of work.
The painting captured a moment of KK’s performance in Leicestershire, England. Jyothy said, “the energy he exudes with his voice could only be described with colours”.
Jyothy and KK were childhood sweethearts and met when they were students in class six. The couple got married in 1991 and in an episode of the talk show The Kapil Sharma Show, KK said he had only dated one woman, his wife Jyothy.
KK also mentioned taking up a sales job to marry her, as he was unemployed. Before he pursued a career in singing, he worked as a marketing executive for three months. He did several advertisements and jingles in Delhi before his big break in 1994. KK's wife then encouraged him to move to Mumbai from Delhi.
The couple had two children together, Nakul Krishna Kunnath and Taamara Krishna Kunnath. On Father’s Day, Taamara posted pictures of her with her father and wrote, “I would take the pain of losing you a 100 times, if it meant having you as my dad even for one second.”
