Shreya Ghoshal, a well-known playback singer in Hindi films, will be turning 38 soon. On her special day, here is a look at her journey and a list of some of her popular songs.
Ghoshal made a mark in Bollywood as a singer with songs like "Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka", "Morey Piya", and "Dola Re Dola" which remain popular even almost two decades later. She started learning music when she was four years old and began formal classical music lessons at the age of six. After winning the television singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma when she was sixteen, she was discovered by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's mother.
Following the success of her debut album, she made her Bollywood playback singing debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's romantic drama Devdas (2002), for which she won a National Film Award, a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer, and a Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.
