Thanksgiving might be about holiday season but for many of us it is about cherishing bonds with family and friends. Atleast these goals are given by sitcoms. Friends-(Season 5,Episode 8)
The group revists Thanksgivings in the past, where various body parts were lost. The first one is Phoebe, a former Civil War nurse who asserts to have lost a limb in a previous existence. Then there is Chandler, who, after fat-shaming Monica, loses a portion of his pinky toe. The whole thing climaxes when Monica dances an apology before Chandler while wearing a raw turkey on her head.
Modern Family-(Season 8, Episode 7)
In this episode, with many farm animals, everyone has a point of view. For bizarre reasons, Cam has been permitted to host an elaborate holiday hoedown with piglets. Jay is attached to a heart monitor that shows how thrilled he is to sip wine from a mason jar. Phil is on the defensive after recognising how concerned he is by Haley's new lover (his ex-best buddy and one of Modern Family's best guest actors, Nathan Fillion), while Claire is playing detective. The death of Fizbo, a friendly, innocent goat, and the almost loss of a smelly divorce lawyer results in everyone's distress; Alex can't stop hooking up with high school boys.
Parenthood-(Season 2,Episode 10)
While preparing Thanksgiving dinner in this episode, Camille and Amber share a wonderful moment as grandmother and granddaughter. The youngest Braverman child, Crosby, is attempting to win over his future mother-in-law by requesting permission to handle the turkey carving this year. Drew also feels uneasy when he learns that his mom is going out to dinner with Gordon because he believes that Gordon is replacing his dad.
Then, in Julia and Joel's home, Julia makes flawless pies for the Thanksgiving dinner to become more domesticated in the kitchen. Under pressure, Julia becomes irritable and shouts at Sydney, her daughter. It demonstrates how the Bravermans handle the stress of planning for a special occasion like Thanksgiving as well as the regular hardships of everyday life.
This Is Us (Season 1)
Because Jack saves the day and establishes so many new family customs, this episode touches our hearts. Every year, Randall observes the customs—eating hot dogs, watching Police Academy 3, and donning the Pilgrim Rick tophat.
In the episode, William, Randall's biological father battling cancer, gives Kevin's friend the wisest advice. “I know it feels like you have all the time in the world, but you don’t. So quit trying to play it so cool. And when a nice boy who adores you offers you pie, say thank you.”
Then, as the story comes to a close, Randall, who is 11 years old, tells his mother that he wants every Thanksgiving to be just like it was that day in that run-down motel.
Gilmore Girls-(Season 3 Episode 9)
Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) attend four Thanksgiving dinners in it. There is one at Lorelai's parent's house, one at Sookie's (Melissa McCarthy), where the cook is having a breakdown, one at Luke's (Scott Patterson) cafe with Luke and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia), and one at Lane's (Keiko Agena) where they have tofurky.
Brooklyn 99- Season 5
Despite the best efforts of their children to bring the two families together for dinner, Smits' Victor Santiago and West Wing veteran Bradley Whitford's Peralta Senior argue. Fathers Santiago and Peralta do''Brooklyn 99 reconcile, but only after Whitford's character, who also appears in Get Out, winds up in the hospital after accidentally cutting off his thumb during a foolish drunken turkey carving session.
