Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar To Have Maharashtrian Wedding On February 19?

Actor-director Farhan Akhtar is going to marry his girlfriend for many years and actor Shibani Dandekar. After the media started reporting about the speculated wedding, Akhtar's parents, Javed Akhtar and his mother Honey Irani confirmed the news. The couple was said to get married on February 21 in court.

According to recent reports, the couple might have a traditional Maharashtrian wedding ceremony on February 19. Hindustan Times reported that the traditional wedding is going to take place at Akhtar's farmhouse in Khandala, Maharashtra.

Reportedly, a source said, "The family has been extremely discreet about this wedding as they don’t want the media to turn up at the venue. Only family members have been invited. It is still unclear how things are planned, as everything is under wraps. But in most probability, it will be a Maharashtrian wedding."

According to the report, the couple's family will leave for Khandala on February 18 and the wedding ceremony will be held at daytime on February 19. Recently, Shibani Dandekar was seen posing with her friends who all wore matching graphic t-shorts hinting at a bachelorette party. As per reports, the bachelorette and other pre-wedding festivities are going to take place after from February 17. Recently Farhan Akhtar also had a bachelor party with his friends. Akhtar also shared a picture from the party in which Shibani Dandekar's face could be seen on a mask.

Shibani Dandekar and Farhan Akhtar have been in a relationship for the past four years. They will register their marriage in a court in Bandra on February 21. The same evening, the couple will reportedly have a reception ceremony for their friends and colleagues in the film industry. Dandekar and Akhtar have been open about their relationship on social media handles, they are seen sharing pictures of each other with heartfelt notes.

Javed Akhtar, veteran lyricist and father of Farhan Akhtar recently confirmed the wedding rumours. He said, "Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners."
