Shefali Shah in Doctor G: Delhi Crime actor Shefali Shah has joined the cast of much-anticipated film Doctor G. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh. The makers have roped in Shah to essay the role of a senior medical practitioner – Dr Nandini, in the comedy-drama.
Doctor G will be director Anubhuti Kashyap's debut film. Speaking about the venture 48-year-old Shah shared, “I am excited to be a part of ‘Doctor G’."
Shah further praised the film's script, written by Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh, Saurabh Bharat alongside Kashyap and said she is really looking forward to collaborating with Kashyap, Khurrana and the amazing team.

Actor Rakul Preet Singh also tweeted sharing that she is excited to be working with Shah and the rest of the cast.

Late last year, Khurrana took to Instagram to announce the film. "Opening soon for consultation," Khurrana wrote in his tweet.

He also had shared that he fell in love with the script instantly because "it is super fresh." Calling it "extremely unique" and "innovative", Khurrana had claimed that the concept will make the audience laugh and ponder. "I’m excited to don the doctor’s coat for the first time in my career and also deliver a message in the process that will hopefully speak directly to your hearts,” he had added.
Amrita Pandey, CEO of Junglee Pictures, said that Shah was the inevitable choice for the role as she brings "gravitas and great energy" to this role. We cannot wait to have her on set and make this movie even more special," Pandey said.
Shah will be soon seen alongside Manav Kaul in Netflix's anthology Ajeeb Daastaans, in a short directed by Kayoze Irani.
Shah’s debut directorial short film Someday was recently selected for the 51st Annual USA Film Festival’s International Short Film and Video Competition.
