Samantha Akkineni, who is the lead actor in the series, portrays a terrorist, wearing an LTTE uniform in the web series. Ever since the series' trailer was released on May 19, she has been trolled for starring in the film, and now the hashtag #ShameonYouSamantha has also started trending.

In fact, the actor reportedly got a gag order from Amazon Prime Video, to refrain from making any comments. She hasn't reacted to any of the trolls.
However, she had earlier spoken about reviews the trailer got. “I saw the reviews of the trailer on the first day, and I had high expectations. I think doubts were cleared moments after the release of The Family Man 2. Everyone was hooked. I was feeling mighty proud. It was my biggest accomplishment," she said.

The Family Man 2 called out for representing Tamils in a bad light
The much-awaited Amazon Prime Video web series has been accused of hurting the sentiments of Sri Lankan Tamils. The series has also been called out for depicting the Eelam Tamils in a negative light, and there have been protests, calling for the ban of the series.
However, on May 24, the directors of The Family Man 2, issued a statement, saying that the series doesn't mean to hurt the sentiments of Tamil people and their culture, and urged the public to wait and watch the series.

Recently, the Tamil Nadu government requested the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, seeking a ban on the screening of the web series, on the OTT platform. On May 21, Naam Tamilar Katchi’s (NTK) leader Seeman issued a press statement saying that the release of The Family Man 2 might create a false impression about the Tamil people. He also said that she was shocked to see visuals in which Tamils have been portrayed as violent people.
