Dancer and influencer Shakira Gatlin passed away recently at the age of 18. The news of her death was confirmed by her mother on social media on Thursday. Tragically, Gatlin's father had passed away just last year. Gatlin was a talented artist, who was part of a famous dance group and appeared on reality television.
Reportedly, she was shot at Barnes Street, Jackson in the United States on the evening of February 3. It is being alleged that the death was the result of the mishandling of a loaded gun. The person accused of shooting Gatlin is being currently interrogated over the incident.
Saddened by her death, Gatlin's mother Erica Robinson took to Facebook to express her anguish over the demise of a young daughter due to allegedly a single shot wound. Robinson wrote, "Why!!!!Why!!!!! I just can't catch a break!!!! Just buried my husband and Now I have to buried my baby!!! They deserved to live...please put them damn guns down!!!" Robinson added a picture of her late daughter and husband together, along with the post. Adding, "She didn't deserve this!!! Shakira Gatlin momma love you so much!!"

DD4L or Dollhouse Dancing Dolls For Life were based at the Dollhouse Factory in the greater Jackson area. The company, reportedly, has studios in Jackson and Birmingham. They offer ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, amongst other dance styles. It was founded by coach Dianna 'Miss D' Williams in 2001.
