Adapted from a fantasy trilogy by the same name, written by Leigh Bardugo, the series Shadow and Bone is all set to return on OTT for the second time. The show has garnered a huge following since the first part's release and fans are eager to know what the mythical saga has in store for them.
Recently, the actors of the show shared a video announcing the second season of Shadow and Bone. The first season revolved around the story of a cartographer named Alina Starkov, played by Jessie Mei Li. Starkov discovers that she has sun-summoning powers, which makes her a member of a magical community titled Grisha.
This power of Starkov is valuable as can obliterate the Shadow Fold, which is a force filled with monsters called Volcra. This power of hers interests a General named Aleksander Kirigan (Ben Barnes) who is the leader of the Second Army. While Starkov is led to believe that Kirigan has her best interests in mind initially, she discovered his darker side as the series progresses.

Talking to ELLE on the adaptation and her cameo in the series, the writer of the book Bardugo said, "I am so emotional. I mean, I am an easy crier. The cameo was chosen based on when I was going to be on set and what the schedule was. I got so lucky because I got to be in the scene that I remember writing so clearly... I wrote those stories at a time in my life that was so dark, where I had no idea that I was ever going to finish a single book, let alone that I would write seven books in this world."
Cast
The cast of the show includes Li, Barnes, Archie Renaux (Mal), Amita Suman (Inej), Freddy Carter (Kaz), Kit Young (Jesper) amongst others.
Season 2 of the show will include Patrick Gibson, playing the character of Nikolai Lantsov, who becomes Alina's ally and Jack Wolfe, who will play the role of Wylan Hendriks. Lewis Tan and Anna Leong Brophy will star as twins named Tolya Yul Battar and Tamar Kir-Battar.
About his character Aleksander Kirigan, Barnes told the Us Weekly, "He's the most powerful in the universe, manipulates the darkness and is feared by other people because he's employing this politics of fear to push his agenda."
