Intense drama Gargi about a woman struggling for justice. The movie follows the life of Gargi, a teacher at a private school . Gargi comes from a poor household that includes her mom, who sells homemade rice flour; her younger sister, Akshara, a middle school student; and her father, Brahmananda played by R. S. Shivaji, who works as a security guard in an apartment building. All of a sudden, a nine-year-old girl is being sexually harassed in the apartment where her father works.
The film depicts Gargi's struggle to free his father of suspicion after he was detained by the police for his suspected involvement in a case of gangrape of a minor. A lawyer named Indrans Kaliyaperumal, played by Kaali Venkat, decides to represent them in court because he has nothing to lose in terms of his reputation.
The film has been praised as a "one-woman show," and Sai Pallavi's performance has been lauded by the critics. Gautham Ramachandran is the film's director and he co-wrote the script with Hariharan Raju.
