Rylee Goodrich death: A man was arrested in connection with a shooting that killed an 18-year-old woman, Rylee Goodrich, during the screening of a horror film The Forever Purge at a California movie theater earlier this week. Her friend, TikTok star Anthony Barajas, wass also seriously wounded and is now on life support now.
Barajas, a 19-year-old social media influencer, went to watch the movie in a mall southeast of Los Angeles with 18-year-old Goodrich, on Monday night, police said. Authorities said there is no known motive for the violence so far and that the shooting appeared to be "an unprovoked attack." The duos bodies were found hours later after the screening of their film ended, by theater workers, who hadn’t heard any gunshots.
No one apparently heard the gunshot during the movie screening, employees who were not working at the time, told CBS on Tuesday.

1. Corona Police Department told CBS that the teen duo was found near their seats when at some point, the employees walked inside the theater to conduct their clean-up and that's when they called 911. The workers said there was an unknown problem, somebody was bleeding and very limited specific information was given to the police.
2. Goodrich was declared dead later, while her friend, a TikTok star who uses the name itsanthonymichael, Anthony Barajas, has been seriously wounded. Still fighting for his life with life-threatening injuries, Barajas has nearly a million followers on TikTok.
3. Goodrich’s cousin, Ashley Cole, told KCBS that Goodrich had been shot in the back of the head. She was a student of STEM at Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Meanwhile, Barajas' most recent post on TikTok was on Friday and showed a family vacation.
4. Goodrich succumbed to her injuries on July 26. Reportedly, she was a teen volleyball enthusiast as well as a cheerleader at her Arizona college.
5. According to her cousin, Goodrich was given a scholarship in the STEM program.
6. The teenager, according to her official Instagram account, owned her own business of artificial eyelashes and she had more than 2,550 followers in the app.
7. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Joseph Jimenez, was booked on Tuesday night on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and robbery. Police said he will be thoroughly investigated in the coming days. Police booked him when the weapon used in the shooting was found at his home. According to CBS LA, investigators are confident he acted alone.
8. Police found no information about the connection between the suspect and the teens or whether they had any prior contact before these crimes took place. Some witnesses provided information to police on Wednesday that led them in the suspect's direction, a statement said.
9. Police also informed that the suspect had a ticket for the movie. Officers arrived on the scene and found the two friends suffering from gunshot wounds, though authorities said no weapon was found at the scene.
10. A GoFundMe page has been set up to cover Goodrich’s funeral costs and send thoughts to her family. Meanwhile, hundreds of messages hoping for Barajas’ recovery continued to flood his Instagram account on Wednesday.
