Mystery-comedy series Russian Doll will be returning to OTT soon enough with its second season. The first season of the series was well-received by the audience and critics alike, also winning three Primetime Emmy Awards. While season 1 ended with no cliffhangers and it seemed like the show had wrapped itself up neatly, clearly, the makers aren't done yet.
Russian Doll follows the story of Nadia, who dies on her 36th birthday, only to end up being stuck in an endless time loop that keeps taking her back to the same evening again and again. Actor Natasha Lyonne, who has also co-written and co-created the series, is seen as the lead character Nadia. Season one of the series received three Emmys including Outstanding Cinematography, Outstanding Production Design, and Outstanding Contemporary Costumes.
The show debuted on OTT back in 2019 and was also renewed for a second season in the same year. While the production did begin in 2020, the filming for Russian Doll Season 2 had to be postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions. Eventually, the team managed to finish its production and post-production work and now the show is ready for its season 2 premiere.
Natasha Lyonne has co-created Russian Doll with Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler.
Russian Doll Season 2 Cast

Russian Doll Season 2 Plot
Season 2 of the show is supposedly set four years after the first season. Nadia (Lyonne) finds herself out of the birthday time loop. However, it is expected that the show will continue to play with its main element of time as she discovers a time portal in New York. It is suggested that the show will display time travelling to the 80s as well as other time periods.
If you think Nadia will be embarking on this adventure alone, you might be wrong. According to the official synopsis of the show, "Discovering a fate even worse than endless death, this season finds Nadia and Alan delving deeper into their pasts through an unexpected time portal located in one of Manhattan’s most notorious locations."
