Rumeysa Gelgi, Tallest Woman Alive Breaks Three More Records

Rumeysa Gelgi is no stranger to popularity for setting records on the world platform. This time, she has not broken one but three more records in total. She has been the World's Tallest Woman by the Guinness World Records (GWR) and now she is the holder of five world records.

In 2014, she was declared the tallest teenager living and last year in October, she became the tallest woman living. According to GWR, she has a height of 215.16 centimeters, which is equivalent to seven feet and 0.7 inches. But her claiming of world titles did not stop here.

Iit was recently verified that she also holds three more records. These records include longest finger on a living person (female), largest hands on a living person (female) and longest back on a living person (female).

The length of her finger is 11.2 centimetres, her right-hand measures 24.93 centimetres and her left hand is 24.26 centimetres. and her back is 59.90 centimetres long.

But the reason for height is not something random or induced later in life. She has a condition which is called Weaver  Syndrome. It is a rare hereditary genetic condition which leads to accelerated growth and advanced bone age. The condition's effects include the limited mobility of joints like elbows and ankles, instability while walking and occasional difficulty in breathing or swallowing.

Due to these issues, she has to use a wheelchair but at times she also used a walker to move shorter distances safely. The GWR has also quoted her saying, "Being a record holder is a very amazing thing. I know that only the special people can make it and I know I'm one of them now."

The GWR site also mentioned that she loves to travel and is an ambassador of body positivity. In her other time, when she is not spending time doing this, she likes to swim and spend time with her family. No other members of her family have the syndrome. Her parents and siblings are of average height.

On her Instagram, she wrote, "I was born with extreme physical uniqueness and wanted to have as much of them recognised and celebrated as possible, hoping to inspire and encourage others with visible differences to do the same thing and be themselves."
