Rocky Aur Rani's First Looks Out: This Prem Kahani's Release Details Here

Slated to be one of this year's most anticipated films, 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' is finally here, and it's set to release soon in theatres.

Karan Johar, who celebrates his 51st birthday today, decided to treat his fans with the first look from the film that, he believes, is a never-seen-before love story.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani Release

KJo directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is supposedly a romantic comedy that stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in titular roles as Rani and Rocky respectively. With this, Johar returns to direction after a long gap, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil being his last directed film.

The film's makers and cast took to their social media on Thursday revealing the first look. Actor-entrepreneur Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to share her character's look writing, "Dilon ko dhadkaane aa rahi hai woh - the ‘Rani’ of this 'prem kahaani'! #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani, a film by Karan Johar in his 25th anniversary year."

Ranveer Singh, too, shared his character Rocky's first look on Instagram writing, "Yaaron ka yaar aur dilon ka dildaar - Rocky!" Johar shared the poster of the two actors and wrote, "It's Rocky & Rani's world & you're about to live in it."

Family drama featuring evergreen stars

Another exciting factor for the film is its star cast. Apart from the stardom that Bhatt and Singh carry, the film also features actors like Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan and  Dharmendra in prominent roles. The film features Rocky and Rani belonging to two families, Randhawa's and Chatterjee's respectively. It will be interesting to see how two families from different backgrounds come together to celebrate love amidst all the drama that a KJo film promises.

This year also marks Karan Johar's 25th anniversary in films. On Wednesday, KJo took to Instagram to share a video compilation of all his films, expressing his gratitude to the world of films and the audience for loving his craft and his characters. Sharing audience's favourite glimpses from several films including My Name Is Khan, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho among others, he stated how he is looking forward to bringing to the fans a refreshing new love story that he and his crew has put a lot of effort into.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will release in cinemas on July 28, 2023.
