Prior to their wedding, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal hosted a ceremony in Lucknow where they appeared in royal attire. On October 6, the couple is due to tie the knot.

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal chose a creative approach to their wedding celebrations by going to receptions in several places prior to the wedding rather than after it. The soon-to-be-wed couple recently made it to a Lucknow evening reception held by the groom's family.

On Tuesday, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal shared photos from the event, which had a royal Awadhi theme, on their Instagram pages. From their Lucknow celebrations, the two posed for a number of photos. Sharing it on her Instagram, Chadha wrote, "I got you," with their wedding hashtag 'RiAli'. Fazal captioned the pictures with a shayari, "Ek daur hum bhi hain. Ek silsila tum bhi ho".

In an off-white gharara, Chadha donned a long veil and an ensemble of dupattas. She accessorised the Sandeep Khosla and Abu Jani outfits with heavy jewellery. Fazal complimented her while wearing an Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla-designed gold and beige sherwani. Their peers in the entertainment industry congratulated the couple and showered them with praise in the comments section.

Before flying to Lucknow for the regal celebration on Monday night, the couple had their haldi, mehendi, sangeet, and cocktail festivities at the Gymkhana Club in Delhi. The reception in Lucknow was hosted by Alis' family. In keeping with the theme, golden handmade drapes and chandelier candle holders were added to the design, which included aspects of the Awadhi-Lucknowi tradition. The reception started with the Sabri Brothers of Rajasthan giving a Qawwali performance. Moreover, Awadhi food created by Lucknow's family-run heritage businesses was served to the guests.

The wedding is scheduled for October 6, in Mumbai, a reception will wrap up the wedding celebrations. After dating for seven years, Fazal proposed to Chadha in 2019, but the coronavirus epidemic forced them to postpone their wedding. They've been together for ten years as of 2022.
