Ira Khan, the daughter of actor Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta is a popular social media celebrity. Recently, she took to Instagram to talk about the time when she received an informative book on sex education from her mother Reena Dutta right when she hit puberty.

Ira Khan recalls receiving a book on sex education from her mom

Lately, Ira Khan has been holidaying in Himachal Pradesh's Kaza with her mother Reena Dutta and boyfriend Nupur Shikhare. In her latest story on Instagram, she opened up about not being able to look at herself in the mirror during puberty. And this sex education book that she received from her mom had the advice of looking at oneself in the mirror, but Ira couldn't do it.

The star kid also revealed that she didn’t pay much attention to the advice in the book at that time but she knows its importance now. Furthermore, Khan admitted that even now she has a long way to go when it comes to curiosity towards her own body.

Ira titled her post addressing this issue as “Be curious” and wrote, "I don't think I've ever looked at myself entirely before. My mom gave me a sexual education book when I hit puberty and it had asked me to look at myself in a mirror, but I didn't get around to doing it. My body has also changed so much in general. Have a long way to go." She also added the hashtag "Pinky promise to me" and tagged her company, Agatsu Foundation.

On May 8, Ira Khan celebrated her 23rd birthday and marked her big day by taking up a fitness challenge to overcome a “heavy” feeling.

In an IGTV video, she said, “I feel fat but I don’t actually mean fat but what I feel is heavy. I have put on weight. I have not done any physical exercise for more than a month in over four years. I got a slip disk at 19. Today, I turn 23. And I am so far away from where I used to be. I cry at the gym because I am unable to move the way I used to and it really bothers me. As a kid, I used to cartwheel from the bed to get up but now, I cannot even get out of my chair. I had to hype myself and convince myself to stand up from the chair. Who thinks about it? I do. It has been bothering me and I did nothing about it, which is my fault."

When Ira Khan opened up about facing sexual harassment as a kid

In 2020, through a video on Instagram, Ira Khan revealed that she was sexually harassed at the age of 14. Sharing about her sexual harassment, she said, “When I was 14, I was sexually harassed. That was slightly an odd situation as I didn’t know what that person was doing and if they knew what they were doing. It wasn’t happening every day. So it took me a year to be sure that they knew what they are doing and that is what they are doing.”

When Ira Khan opened up about being diagnosed with Clinical Depression

Ira Khan was diagnosed with clinical depression over four years ago and has been very open about her mental health battles online. She has spoken about the challenges and the hardships she has faced when it comes to her mental health. She wrote: “The burn outs are getting longer so now I have to try harder.” She also shared about her attempts at healing from depression with the help of her therapists.
