Goodbye cast was recently announced on social media through a poster of the upcoming Balaji Telefilms Ltd movie. The movie marks the debut of South Indian actor Rashmika Mandanna in the Hindi film industry.
Goodbye is an upcoming Bollywood movie that will be produced by Viraj Sawant and Vikas Bahl's Saraswati Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms Ltd. Vikas Bahl also serves as the directed and writer of the film. The movie will mark the Hindi debut of Rashmika Mandanna who is primarily seen in Kannada and Telugu films.

The movie is a family comedy-drama that will star Rashmika Mandanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Neena Gupta, and Pavail Gulati in pivotal roles. Other actors playing important roles in the film include Elli AvRam, Sahil Mehta, Sunil Grover, Payal Thapa, Shivin Narang and Abhishek Khan. The story of the film revolves around the Bhalla family who laughs, cries, have fun and does crazy stuff together. Not much is known about the plot but the movie will reportedly feature an emotional and heart-touching story based on familial bond.
The poster of the movie was shared by Rashmika Mandanna on her Instagram where the cast can be seen smiling happily standing around Amitabh Bachchan sitting on a chair and cuddling a puppy. The caption read, "Meet my crazy little family. Coming to meet yours in cinemas near you on 7th October 2022! #Goodbye trailer out tomorrow!". The trailer is scheduled to release on September 6.
It was supposed to be Mandanna's second film as her debut was expected to be opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Shantanu Bagchi and Ronnie Screwvala's Mission Majnu. However, the release of the movie was postponed and Goodbye ended up being her debut movie. The shooting of the movie began in April 2021 and was completed by June 2022. Mandanna will also be seen in Varisu opposite Thalapathy Vijay which is produced by Dil Raju. Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in Ayan Mukherjee's Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva along with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. Goodbye will release in theatres on October 7, 2022.
