Rashmika Mandanna on Sidharth Malhotra: Actor Rashmika Mandanna, who will be making her Bollywood debut with Mission Majnu opposite Sidharth Malhotra, joined him in Lucknow for a shoot a while back. In a recent interview Mandanna opened up about her experience of working with Malhotra.
In the interview, Mandanna called him a wonderful guy who's "loaded with star qualities". She further praised Malhotra saying that he has often "guided me on the use of the dialect we have to speak in the film and has also helped me nail my performance."
"When I perform a scene, I always look out for what my co-actor feels. I need to see whether my emotions strike a chord with him or her. If they react in the right manner, then I know I will be able to convey those emotions to the audience, too," Mandanna said opening up about how she and Malhotra coordinated for the film scenes together and how he helped her transition for her Hindi debut film. The shooting for Mandanna and Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming thriller began in February 2021. "We chat about what we should do in a scene and how we should approach it. Of course, I prepare myself for the role, but he helps out in a big way," she added.
On being asked about her equation with her the Student of the Year actor, Mandanna said, “We have been working non-stop." Rashmika Mandanna added that while the schedule for their shoot is really tight, but the little time that she gets to speak with him, she asks him about various things. "Like I once asked him for advice once about how I should navigate my way through the industry, and he said, ‘You’re just fine the way you are. Just be yourself, and keep at it. Do your work with all your conviction and focus. Everything else will work out. Make your choices the way you have so far.’ I just decided to follow it to the T.”
An action-thriller set in the 70s, Mission Majnu is said to be inspired by real events. Sharing the first look of the film, Mandanna had earlier tweeted, “Well guys, here’s news for you! I’m super glad and excited to be a part of this! Here’s to a new journey!”
This film will mark Mandanna’s debut in Bollywood. She has predominantly worked in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films, including Sarileru Neekevvaru, Kirik Party, Devadas and Geetha Govindam.
Apart from Mission Majnu, the actor will be seen in her second Hindi film Goodbye alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
