Raj Kundra film with Shamita Shetty? Actor and model Gehana Vasisth, who was arrested previously in connection with the alleged porn app case involving businessman Raj Kundra, recently revealed that the businessman was planning to cast his sister-in-law in a film. However, the project involving Shamita was not for the 'Hotshots' app that is at the centre of the pornography case now. The actor clarified that she was going to direct the film under Kundra's production as he was reportedly planning to launch a new app.
Kundra, who is married to actor Shilpa Shetty, was arrested by the Mumbai Police on July 19 in a case of alleged production of pornographic films and their publishing on some apps. On Friday, the British-Indian businessman's police custody was extended till July 27.
In the latest update on the case, an email by the company HotShots requesting a "bold" video from creators Paras Randhawa and Jyoti Thakur has come to the fore, ZeeNews reported.
Raj Kundra was working to launch a new app
In an interview, Vasisth, who was also arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch in February in the same case, made some revelations saying that Kundra, just a few days before his arrest, told her about his plan to launch an app called Bollyfame.
Raj Kundra was ranked as the 198th richest British Asian by Success magazine in 2014.
She added they both discussed the scripts and zeroed in on the name Shamita Shetty as the lead for one script, and Sai Tamhankar and two other artists for another. "I was supposed to direct these films and was thinking about it just a few days before his arrest," she claimed.
Gehana Vasisth's statement
After Kundra's arrest, Vasisth, who is on bail in the same case, issued a statement saying that there was no pornography in the videos on app in question, publically backing Kundra in the controversial case. She further admitted that she had worked with the well-known businessman and Umesh Kamat, who is also being associated with the case, in the past but they never made “obscene videos”, she clarified. People should not mix up porn with erotica or bold content, she pointed out. Vasisth also said that "the law will take its course" as she had full faith in the Mumbai police. Read all about her here.
