Prabhas, Pooja Hegde Starrer 'Radhe Shyam' To Have OTT Premiere On This Date

Penned and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, Radhe Shyam is a period drama film. Radhe Shyam is a bilingual film that was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi. Starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in the lead, the film is set in 70s Europe, revolving around Vikram Aditya, a palmist and his love interest Prerna.

Radhe Shyam Plot

The film’s trailer opens with Alexandria Bellefleur's quote, “It’s all written in the stars,” implying that the film is about a romance against fate. The film’s storyline revolves around Vikram Aditya (Prabhas) and Prerna (Pooja) who are two individuals with abject contrasting views on life. Vikram Aditya, a palmist by profession, believes in following fate, destiny and Prerna strongly believes in the power of science. The film focuses on their romance despite all odds being against them.

The film also features seasoned actors like Bhagyashree, Jagapati Babu, Murali Sharma, Priyadarshi, Sathyan, Sasha Chettri, Sachin Khedekar, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Mandava Sai Kumar and Riddhi Kumar.

Box Office Reception

The film had created a lot of buzz ahead of its release. The producers also claimed that the worldwide ticket sales brought in around Rs 200 crore. However, the industry analysts suggest otherwise. Reportedly, some analysts estimate that the film's overall box office receipts will be well below Rs 150 crore.

Radhe Shyam OTT Release Date

The Prabhas starrer will be premiering on Amazon Prime Video nearly 15 days after its theatrical release. According to the announcement, it will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 1. "I am very delighted to bring this saga closer to home with the digital release and hope to continue receiving all the adoration from audiences,” said Prabhas about his magnum opus's OTT release.

Prabhas's Upcoming Projects

The highly anticipated Adipurush, another pan-India film, is Prabhas' next project. It stars Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh, among others, in a modern-day rendition of the Ramayana. Prabhas will also appear in Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame. He portrays a "very violent figure" in the film.
