Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas's Baby Born Premature, To Stay In Hospital For Now: Report

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas took to their social media handles on Friday to announce that they have welcomed their baby via a surrogate.

The couple did not reveal the gender of the baby but it has been reported that they are now parents to a baby girl. As per a report by DailyMail, the baby arrived 12 weeks before the due date and is currently at the Southern California Hospital outside Los Angeles. The baby is to remain at the hospital till she is healthy enough to come home to her parents Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.

Many reports suggested that the couple were expecting the baby to come in April and Priyanka Chopra had cleared her work scheduled according to that. She was reportedly gearing up to embrace motherhood. The couple while announcing the news wrote, "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much."

Recently, actor Priyanka Chopra had created buzz on the internet after she dropped the Jonas name from her Instagram handle. Many of her fans and followers speculated if the couple had decided to end their marriage. However Priyanka Chopra came out with clarification and said that she was amused that people made such a "huge deal" out it. In an interview, she told the media, "I don’t know! I wanted the username to match my Twitter, I guess. I just find it really amusing that everything becomes such a huge deal to people! It’s social media, guys. Just chill out!"

Chopra and Jonas got married in December 2018 at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. They held two ceremonies one Hindu and another Christian.

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra was recently seen in the fourth film of the Matrix franchise. She will also be seen in Amazon Prime web series titled Citadel. The show is a drama created by Russo brothers with many significant stars of the Hollywood industry as part of the cast.
