Priyaank Sharma, Shaza Morani Hindu wedding postponed: Shaza Morani and Priyaank Sharma, who tied the knot last month had to postpone their Hindu wedding with just days to go. The decision was taken due to rising number of COVID-19 cases in the state of Maharashtra.
Sharma and Morani had reportedly filed a marriage application in Marriage Magistrate’s office in December last year but had their wedding on February 4 in Mumbai. After the court wedding both the families flew to the Maldives from where they were supposed to come down to India for a traditional wedding on March 5.
A source close to the couple told HT, "But that's not happening for now as there has been a resurgence of COVID cases in Maharashtra and the rules have brought the otherwise permissible limit of 250 individuals to 50 again," further adding, "In view of this, the Sharmas and Moranis will have the Hindu wedding done soon but at a later date. The Maldives festivities were a pre-wedding celebration to the Hindu wedding which was meant to follow four days from now."
Shaza Morani is the co-founder of Samaaj Scope, an organisation that creates content on Social and Environmental causes. She is the daughter of Karim Morani who founded the entertainment company Cineyug, with his family members Mohammed Morani and Aly Morani.
