Season 2 of the show is titled Pavitra Rishta: It's never too late. The 2009 show became very popular, making late actor Rajput and Lokhande a household name. The show found wide popularity for its romance and the pairing of Singh and Lokhande. It ran for five years with more than a thousand episodes. The lead actors met on the sets and fell in love with each other. The two went on to date for six years before parting ways. More here.
On June 1 this year, the show celebrated 12 years since it first aired. While the original daily soap aired on television, Pavitra Rishta 2 is set to make its debut on the digital platform. Earlier this month, casting director Aditya Suranna told Zoom Digital, "Pavitra Rishta 2.0 is completely digital." While Lokhande and Usha Nadkarni are reprising their roles, it would be a big challenge for Sheikh, Suranna claimed. He added that it is a big challenge for him to "live up" to that space as Manav. The new show also featured Hiten Tejwani, Asha Negi, Rithvik Dhanjani and Karan Veer Mehra. Actor Usha Nadkarni will be returning as Savita Deshmukh (Manav's mother) but other cast members are yet to be announced, the digital streaming platform shared.
