Shilpa Shetty And Shirley Setia Starrer Nikamma To Release On This Date

Nikamma, a long-awaited film starring Shilpa Shetty, Abhimanyu Dassani, and Shirley Setia, has been given a release date. The team revealed today, March 31st, that the film will be released in theatres on a certain date. Read on to find out.

Shilpa Shetty, Abhimanyu Dassani, and Shirley Setia feature in Nikamma, an upcoming Hindi-language action romance comedy film. The picture is noteworthy in many ways, it will mark Setia's acting debut, as well as Shetty's return to theatres after a 15-year break following Apne in 2007. On the other hand, after his 2019 debut, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, this will be Dassani's second theatrical release. He was most recently seen in Meenakshi Sundareshwar, a Netflix romantic comedy.

Last year, Shetty returned to the big screen with the OTT comedy Hungama 2. In a statement about Nikamma, the actor said it's "great to be back" in theatres after a "15-year break." She shared the news on her Instagram and wrote, "Ab intezaar khatam aur entertainment Shuru ! Mark your calendars guys ‘Nikamma’ is releasing in a THEATRE close to you on the 17th June 2022"

Nikamma Release Date:

Sony Pictures Films India and Sabbir Khan Films are producing the film. Originally set for a June 2020 release, it has been delayed twice due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which has caused production to cease and theatres to close. It is set to be released on June 17th, 2022.

Sabbir Khan, who directed Heropanti and Baaghi, is the director of this film. Khan expressed his delight that Nikamma will finally be released after the film's release was postponed owing to the pandemic. He said in an interview about the delays, he said, “The whole team has been waiting very patiently for the times to be right for the world and I am just happy to see our film finally getting a theatrical release, which is what the film was conceived for."
