Netrikann Release Date And Time: Southern superstar Nayanthara will be seen playing the role of a blind woman who becomes witness to a hit-and-run case in her upcoming film Netrikann. As the threat of COVID-19 pandemic continues to loom overhead, the makers of this thriller have opted for an OTT release. A multilingual project, Netrikann will be released in four languages- Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.

The film has been produced by Nayanthara's partner Vignesh Shivan, under his banner Rowdy Pictures. Directed by Milind Rau, the film is said to be inspired by a Korean film titled Blind that released in 2011. The South Korean original film featured actors Kim Ha Neul in the lead, with actors Yoo Seung Ho, Jo Hee Bong and Park Bo Gum forming the supporting cast. The Indian adaptation of the film features Ajmal Ameer, Manikandan and Lizzie Antony in key roles, apart from Nayanthara.

What's the film about?

Netrikann is about a blind woman named Durga, who reaches out to police after she witnesses a hit-and-run. According to Durga, she was riding in a cab when the driver hit a person, packed the body in the boot of his car, alleged that it was a dog and drove away. While police initially has hard time believing a blind woman's credibility as a witness, Durga proves that while she can't see, she is a keen observer.

When things don't go as planned, the woman sets out to hunt the driver herself. However this ends up in a cat and mouse chase, between her and a serial killer, who eventually sets out to kill Durga herself. Will Durga be able to survive using her survival skills, or will the killer get the best of her? Viewers will find out when they watch Netrikann.
