Meet The Cast Members Of Upcoming Thriller Netrikann

Netrikann Cast: Directed by Milind Rau, the film features Nayanthara, Ajmal Ameer, Manikandan, in prominent roles. The supporting cast of the film includes Lizzie Antony. 

The film is Vignesh Shivan’s first venture as a producer under his banner Rowdy Pictures. As per reports, the film is based on a Korean film named Blind. Although the film was slated to release in theatres, it will be released on an OTT platform on August 13 due to the second wave of the pandemic. Being a multilingual project, it will be released in four languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. 

Here’s a look at the cast of Netrikann:

Nayanthara

Starring in the lead role, Nayanthara is expected to portray the role of a visually impaired woman who witnesses a kidnapping performed by a serial killer. While speaking to a daily, the director of the film mentioned that the narrative will have her in a  ‘never-before-seen-role’. 

Nayanthara has worked in more than 75 films. Malayalam film Manassinakkare marked her acting debut in 2003 alongside actor Jayaram. She had shared screen space with superstar Rajinikanth in her second Tamil film Chandramukhi. The actor has starred in numerous super hit movies including Vallavan, Billa, Raja Rani, among others. 

Ajmal Ameer

The actor is essaying a prominent role in Netrikann alongside Nayanathara. While speaking to a leading daily the actor mentioned that the film will be a ‘gripping thriller’. He added that it will be arduous for the audience to gauge their real characters. 

The actor is popularly known for his films Ko, Anjathe, Iravukku, Aayiram Kangal. He has also bagged two Filmfare Awards South for his performances. Apart from Netrikann, his upcoming project includes a Malayalam horror-thriller named Kshanam with debut actor Anu Sonara, who is the sister of Anu Sithara. 

Manikandan

From mimicry artist to a dialogue writer, the Aelay actor has juggled different roles. He is well known for his acting performances in Vikram Vedha, Thambi and Viswasam. Besides being an actor, he is a film writer as well as director in the Tamil film industry. His debut performance was seen in India Pakistan.

He was the director of an indie film titled Nazrai Ezhuthum Suyasaritham (English title: Endless) featuring Delhi Ganesh and himself in lead roles. In the category of ‘Indian Cinema Competition’, the film was selected to participate in Bengaluru International Film Festival 2016. The film went on to become one of the four films which got selected for screening at the 16th New York Indian Film Festival 2016. 

Lizzie Antony

Mostly seen in supporting roles, the Tamil actor is known for her roles in Thanga Meenkal and Taramani. She was also in the critically acclaimed films Preranbu and Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum.
